A spot of midweek evening climbing with MrP at a surprisingly busy Windgather crag in the Peak District. We did repeats of most of last weekends climbs with the addition of two new routes : Black Slab (hvd*) and Traditional (hs4a*). Hurray, another trip to Windgather crag and my first VS leads of the year : The Rib (vs 5a) and The Rib Right-Hand (vs 4c) . We also did The Staircase (m), something between The Corner(d) and The Toe Nail (vd), High Buttress Arete (d **), Centre (hvd 3c*) and Squashed Finger (hvd*).

We took Alex’s new bike for a test ride on the twelve and a half mile Screaming Cats route that weaves through and around Macclesfield forest. We had quite a late start today and arrived at a very busy Ogwyn cottage at around 3:30 but despite the bank holiday crowds at the car park there were only two other teams actually climbing at the slabs.
